Welcome

Welcome to this National Bible Study. This is our first experiment in holding something like this so suggestions are welcome.

First, let’s get an overview of what we intend to do. Every first of the month (December 1st 2004,  January 1st 2005,  etc.) through August 1st 2005 there will be a posted assignment. This will allow us 10 assignments. Every person who wants to participate can. Homework is turned into me by attaching a file saved in the Rich Text Format (extension RTF)) to an email sent to Lee@hodsbs.org.

Our intention is to post these on the two websites:

(http://season-of-our-joy.com/  and  http://hodsbs.org/

for people to read. If you do not want your research made available to others, please state such in a private email to me at Lee@hodsbs.org.

Also, we would like to have the author’s name on each. Once again, if you would like your work posted but would like to remain anonymous, please state such in a private email to me at Lee@hodsbs.org.

For examples of signatures, I will use myself. Since my name is Lee Miller, I might choose any of the following (there are others as well but these are just a few):

bulletLee Miller
bulletL. Miller
bulletBrother Lee
bulletBrother Miller
bulletMr. Miller
bulletMiller Time
bulletLM
bulletLMM
bulletLee M

Please indicate what signature you would like to have appear on your research work.

It goes without saying that proper behavior is required. Everything written is submitted from the perspective that it could contain error and the author requests that correction be given. A couple of examples of what forms correction WILL NOT TAKE follow:

bulletI can’t believe you wrote such a thing, you moron!
bulletIf you really think that is true, you will burn in hell forever and ever.

Remember, these are examples of what not to do!

Fonts

You will need the following fonts: BWHEBB, BWHEBL [Hebrew]; BWGRKL, BWGRKN, and BWGRKI [Greek]. If you would like other fonts added, please state such in a private email to me at Lee@hodsbs.org. I will then make the font available to all. Note: If at anytime you lose the font information in your document, it can usually be recovered by just opening your font folder from the control panel. This usually forces MS Windows to reset all the font information for your computer.

Go here  http://bibleworks.com/fonts.html  to get the fonts and receive instruction on how to install them.

Don’t forget the copyright notice if you use these in your paper:

"BWHEBB, BWHEBL [Hebrew]; BWGRKL, BWGRKN, and BWGRKI [Greek] Postscript® Type 1 and TrueType™ fonts Copyright © 1994-2002 BibleWorks, LLC. All rights reserved. These Biblical Greek and Hebrew fonts are used with permission and are from BibleWorks, software for Biblical exegesis and research."

The Greek text I will be using for the New Testament will be the Nestle-Aland 27th Edition of the Greek New Testament.

Thank you for being a part and we look forward to the “coming together session” at the feast next fall where this whole thing will be concluded.

1 Thessalonians 5:21

Test everything: Grasp a hold of that which is true.
